Σύνοψη:This article analyzes the work "The Language of the Birds" by the Iranian poet Farid ud-Din Abu Hamad Mohâmmed, best known as Attar. The chosen approach consists first of a brief presentation of the principles of Sufism, of the author and the work itself. This then makes possible to draw a parallel between the symbolisms found in the poem and mystical experience as lived by the Sufis.
