Summary: | This paper uses data gathered through interviews with Indian transnational migrant workers in the greater Durban1 area in the province of KwaZulu Natal, South Africa and uses the analytical lens of social capital to contextualize their religious practices in a transnational space. The paper argues that, within the context of the transnational lives of the migrant workers, religion, and religious ritual and activities, can perhaps be understood as (re)emerging in the form of social capital that helps build cohesive bonds and ties amongst the migrants. |
