In this article, we start by providing a summary of his biography, including the influence of the Muslim Brothers Society on his political and intellectual development. We will then explore his key ideas, notably the adoption of the term wasatiyya or ‘middle way’ to describe his position vis-à-vis the main questions facing both Muslims and Islam.
