Description
Summary:By studying the Hebrew text of Sir 30,21-25 in relation to the two previous pericopes on child-rearing and illness, the article offers a more precise context for explaining the peculiarity of Ben Sira s invitation to distraction. Furthermore, the intentionall:y drawn relationship between the son and the body, as well as the emotional intertwining of joy and sadness, constitute two main elements that justify the complex unity of the entire chapter 30.
