Au sein de l'éthique chrétienne, l'apport spécifique de la Bible s'adresse en premier lieu non pas à notre volonté, mais à notre imaginaire individuel et collectif. Son impact moral est indirect, et concerne principalement la formation de notre caractère et notre vision du monde. À travers quelques textes choisis, cet article montre comment la Bible peut contribuer à façonner en nous une attitude vertueuse d'hospitalité envers les étrangers, et même nous inviter à devenir en quelque sorte l'hôte de notre hôte. Cette attitude fondamentale pourrait bien ensuite influencer nos politiques migratoires dans le sens de la générosité. | ||

In this context, it is not sufficient to merely invoke the principles of Catholic social thought, because conflicts about immigration are often rooted in our social representations. Within Christian ethics, the specific contribution of the Bible is not primarily addressed to our will but to our individual and collective imagination. Its moral impact is indirect, mainly concerning the formation of our character and our vision of the world. Through a few selected texts, this article show how the Bible can help shape in us a virtuous attitude of hospitality towards foreigners, and even invite us to become in some sense the guest of our guest. This fundamental attitude could then influence our migration policies in the direction of generosity. | ||
