Of course the genres (gospel versus epistle), the quantity (four, versus ten or thirteen), and the occasions for composition differ. There are four anonymous perspectives in the case of the Gospels and one constant but variable outlook in the case of Paul. It is both proper and necessary to have the work of this very influential NT writer rendered accessible in a volume that remains sensitive to the unique circumstances that inspired each individual epistle. In this regard, James Ware has served both NT and theological scholarship well through this Synopsis. | ||
