Against this background which is so obvious that it is hardly given consideration, the present monograph by Swedish scholar Samuelsson questions the textual basis of our knowledge about the death of Jesus. Samuelsson starts with the observation that NT texts offer only a brief description of the punishment that has influenced a whole world. Jesus announced that he would be crucified in Jerusalem (Matt 26:2). | ||
