AB The Gospel of Judas has, in recent years, attracted considerable attention. The media is definitely not the least to blame for this sudden increase in interest. Somewhat unfortunately, the general public has been under the spell of information released through the team of National Geographic (NG), which has, one must admit, left them with a rather one-sided view to the contents and meaning of this ancient writing. April DeConick, in her revised edition of The Thirteenth Apostle: What the Gospel of Judas Really Says, has sought to counter this one-sided view of the Gos. Judas. This book is aimed, in a sense - and at least with a view to the general public - to provide an alternative and in some cases a correction to the NG report.
