Description
Summary:The convergences between the symptoms of Major Depression Disorder as exposed in DSM-5 and Saint Thomas Aquinas' doctrine on sadness as exposed in Summa Theologica, I-II, qq. 35-39 are analyzed. The Magisterium of the Catholic Church has exhorted for centuries to study of the Aquina's doctrine and to put it in dialogue with the sciences. Thomism is compatible with current psychopathology, provides a comprehensive vision of human being, and contributes to forging a "healthy psychology" based on Christian anthropology.
