Summary: | The Quaestiones attributed to Odo of Soissons are of interest because they raise questions of authorship, and also because they belong to a large corpus of question-literature of the mid-twelfth century, in which a new interest in problems of theological language and the resolution of fallacies is to be seen. They constitute a turning-point in the development of the disputatio. In the present article the status quaestionis on their authorship is reexamined, and their place in the development of twelfth-century methods of Bible Study is considered in the light of recent work. |
