AB The reform of the Roman Curia in Pope Francis’ Apostolic Constitution Praedicate Evangelium. Observations at first reading · The contribution illustrates and examines the elements of continuity and innovation of the Apostolic Constitution Praedicate Evangelium on the Roman Curia, focusing on the most characterizing aspects of Pope Francis’ reform : the missionary conversion of ecclesiastical structures in the perspective of evangelization, synodality as a style of government that is based on mutual listening, the enhancement of the forms of expression of episcopal communion, the involvement of lay people (men and women) in top positions, the structure of the curial institutions and the criteria for dividing their competences. Lastly, the substantial incompleteness of the Apostolic Constitution is highlighted, which constitutes a fundamental piece of the process of reformatio Ecclesiae still in progress.
