| Resumo: | Freedom of religion and freedom of conscience in international and european law : a jurilinguistic perspective · This paper provides a linguistic investigation of the category ‘freedom of conscience and religion’ under international and European law. Through a jurilinguistic methodology, the goal is to clarify the relationship between ‘freedom of conscience’ and ‘freedom of religion’ by looking at the codification, interpretation and application of relevant legal documents from 1948 to present. The evolutionary trajectory of this relationship is then explained through a ‘vocabulary test’ highlighting the transition from the freedom of conscience/religion dichotomy to the contemporary formula “FoRB”. |
