I propose that the metaphor’s referent is Jesus's community of disciples, constituted into a temple community with him as God indwelling it; and that the continuous survival of that community beyond his crucifixion and death was the sign that Jesus promised οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι in John 2:19. | ||
