Drawing on this statement by Kierkegaard, we seek to demonstrate how every writer always seeks to approximate as nearly as possible to ‘something’ he can never entirely express, and which he only ever manages to skirt around, to evoke; and that, no doubt, because this ‘something’ does not inhabit, or no longer inhabits, the realm of words but of existence. And yet, the attempt still needs to be made to find words to express it - words to speak the unspeakable - whether through irony, poetic metaphor or in an altogether different way. | ||

En s’appuyant sur cette affirmation de Kierkegaard, on tente de montrer comment tout écrivain, s’efforce toujours de s’approcher au plus près d’un « quelque chose » qu’il ne parvient jamais entièrement à dire, qu’il ne fait qu’effleurer, évoquer, sans doute parce que ce « quelque chose » n’est pas, n’est plus de l’ordre des mots, mais de l’ordre de l’existence. Et pourtant il faut bien trouver des mots pour le dire - des mots pour dire ce qui ne peut se dire - que ce soit par l’ironie, la métaphore poétique ou de toute autre façon. | ||
