But in Kierkegaard, writing is also an existential (or ethically qualified) act or activity, which plays its own part in this process of emergence. The present article examines this formative power of writing, a function which has nothing whatever to do with the logic of literary creation, and which is not simply reducible to the need for a ‘therapeutic’ form of writing. First of all, we see how the readiness to write is anchored within the structures of existing subjectivity, and is to be found at the point of the emergence of that subjectivity. There follows an analysis of the writing process itself, which is to be understood as the very act of a reprise. This brief exploration concludes with what might be called the ‘risk of writing’, that of foreclosing the process of emergence, i.e. of substituting the logic of the literary work for the logic of coming to be oneself. | ||

Mais l’écriture est aussi chez Kierkegaard un acte ou une activité existentielle (ou éthiquement qualifiée) qui participe elle-même de ce devenir. On analyse ici cette opération de l’écriture, sa force formatrice, qui est tout autre chose que la logique de la création littéraire et qui ne se résorbe pas non plus dans la nécessité d’une écriture « thérapeutique ». Il s’agit de voir d’abord en quoi la disposition à écrire est ancrée dans les structures de la subjectivité existante, comment elle se trouve au lieu de l’émergence de la subjectivité. On analyse ensuite l’opération propre de l’écriture, qui doit être comprise comme l’acte même de la reprise. On achève enfin cette rapide exploration par ce que l’on peut appeler le « risque de l’écriture », celui d’un blocage du devenir, autrement dit la substitution de la logique de l’œuvre à la logique du devenir soi. | ||
