And this pensée, one of the Apology’s most important, would thus be incomprehensible, along with many others. Given that Lafuma’s classification is founded on nothing more than hypotheses, and since another is made possible by Pascal’s manuscript indications, which are incontestable facts, it is to the latter classification that we must refer. Indeed, doing so brings out the meaning of this pensée. | ||

Cette pensée, une des plus importantes de l’Apologie, serait alors incompréhensible et de nombreuses autres pensées seraient dans le même cas. Comme ce classement n’est fondé que sur des hypothèses, et comme un autre classement est possible à partir des indications manuscrites de Pascal qui, elles, sont des faits incontestables, c’est à ce dernier classement qu’il faut se référer et c’est lui qui donne effectivement son sens à cette pensée. | ||
