Based on its original representation, delivered in the form of the hermit théologian Evagrius Ponticus, its articulation as odium professionis, a loathing of the monastic state, shall be surpassed in favour of a hypothesis that problematizes both indifference and aversion, namely that of unbearable indifference. This hypothesis will in turn be ultimately transcended as we bring to light a deeper indifference towards oneself, which leads to the ultimate kierkegaardian thesis that there exists a profound ethical failure in acedia. | ||

Cette hypothèse sera ultimement dépassée par la mise au jour d’un état plus profond d’indifférence à soi, menant à la thèse ultime, kierkegaardienne, d’une défaillance éthique profonde dans l’acédie. | ||
