| Summary: | Rachel Bespaloff (1895-1949) one of the first great readers of Kierkegaard in France, sees his thought as being inscribed with tensions surrounding the ‘invisible source of love’. But love makes a demand upon freedom. Criticism of the guilt arising from an idolatrous faith, together with a reflection on repetition (the disruption caused by eternity in time), allow the author of Cheminements et Carrefours (1938) to discover the highest function of literary art, which is almost to succeed in touching the real when it sets aside its ‘principle of indifference’. RésuméRachel Bespaloff (1895-1949) voit chez Kierkegaard, dont elle fut en France une des premières grandes lectrices, une pensée où s’inscrivent des tensions autour de « la source invisible de l’amour ». Mais l’amour est requête à la liberté. Une critique de la culpabilité issue d’une foi idolâtre, et une réflexion sur la répétition (bouleversement introduit par l’éternité dans le temps) ouvrent l’auteur de Cheminements et Carrefours (1938) à découvrir la fonction la plus haute de l’art littéraire, quand il s’approche du pouvoir de toucher le réel en abolissant sa « loi d’indifférence ». |
