Seuls les arguments propres à ce dernier sont réfutés: ses contradictions internes (I, 1-3) et ses erreurs historiques, fréquentes et plus d'une fois compromettantes (II, 1-21). Conclusion: en mars 1277, la mémoire de Thomas d'Aquin a fait l'objet d'un procès parisien à part, qui finit par avorter. Ce procès est à distinguer aussi bien de la procédure conduisant au syllabus du 7 mars 1277 que du procès aboutissant à l'infamie de Gilles de Rome. As the proofs ad rem presented in earlier works (cf. n. 3) are still perfectly up to date, they are not repeated here. Nor are the arguments advanced by J. F. Wippel and shared at times by J. M. M. H. Thijssen again discussed (cf. 4). The latter's own arguments alone are refuted: his inconsistencies (I, 1-3) and his frequent, and repeatedly compromising, historical errors (II, 1-21). Conclusion: in March 1277, the memory of Thomas Aquinas was attacked in a separate Parisian process, which finally aborted. This process was distinct from the procedure leading to the syllabus of March 7, 1277, as well as from the process ending with the infamy of Giles of Rome. | ||
