Lui-même sensible aux nuances lexicales, il joue sans cesse sur la différence entre des termes comme ἕτερος et ἄλλος ποιήματα et γέννημα, etc. Le tout aboutit à une relecture complète de l'Écriture où deux personnes sont distinguées : l'une infiniment transcendante, l'autre manifestée, toutes deux divines. Justin Martyr, in his Dialogue with Trypho, uses Scripture, and more precisely the vocabulary pertaining to theophanies, to prove that the God showing himself there is other than the Creator. Being sensitive himself to lexical nuance, he plays constantly on the difference between words like ἕτερος and ἄλλος ποιήματα and γέννημα, etc. All of which leads to a completely new reading of Scripture where there are now two distinct persons : one infinitely transcendant, the other manifested, both divine. | ||
