La condition est d'abord l'ensemble des données qui sont trouvées avec l'être considéré dans son fait et son actualité et dont les caractéristiques sont réfléchies dans une ontique. Mais la condition doit encore être mise au compte de l'essence de l'être au même litre que la nature et l'histoire. La compréhension ontologique de la condition en général s'est développée progressivement depuis le Moyen Âge et demeure imparfaite; mais elle est essentielle à la compréhension de la spécificité des êtres et en particulier de l'homme. In the duplicated lecture notes (as yet unpublished) of the courses given by Father Dubarle, in the Department of Philosophy at the Institut Catholique of Paris during the 1970s, we find the elements of an ontology of the condition. The condition is first of all a set of attributes which are found with a being who is taken to be a contemporaneous entity and whose characteristics are reflected in an ontic. But the condition must also be attributed to the essence of the being, in the same way as are its history and nature. The ontological understanding of the condition in general has been developing progressively since the Middle Ages and remains imperfect; nevertheless it is essential to an understanding of the specificity of beings and in particular of the specificity of man. | ||
