Cependant, si l'on centre l'analyse sur l'évolution du thème, on voit progressivement se préciser la visée anthropologique qui sous-tend l'interrogation de l'esprit sur le « fond » du monde, de Dieu et de soi. La fascination exercée par le fondement correspond à l'intérêt que représente pour l'esprit ce lieu propre, à la fois mythique, sacré et spéculatif, où il est toujours à nouveau mis à disposition de soi, confié à soi-même. En situant le lieu particulier d'une régénération toujours possible pour l'esprit, Schelling entraîne sa philosophie dans la direction d'une critique radicale de l'image moderne du processus (-progrès) historique. La raison téléologique ne se réalise en pratique que lorsqu'elle est contredite ou malmenée par la créativité de la volonté qu'elle tendait à réprimer. La liberté se signale d'abord par l'insurrection du fondement. Schelling's treatment of the "Ur-Grund" is a theme, rich in variations, in which the cosmogonie and théogonie allusions of former thinkers appear to converge with those of the mystical theology of his time. However, if the analysis is centred on the evolutionary aspect of the theme, the anthropological element which underlies the questionings of the mind about the origins of the world and of God and oneself becomes progressively more evident. The fascination engendered by the notion of "Grund" encourages the mind to speculate about its special place, at once mythical, sacred and speculative, where itself is ever and again placed at one's disposal and entrusted to one. Towards locating this particular place, where a regeneration of the mind is always possible, Schelling steers his philosophy in the direction of radically censuring the (then) modern image of historical progress. In practice the teleological reason only holds good when it is contradicted or tested by human creativity which it tended to repress. Rebellion of its creativity is the first sign of liberty. | ||
