Une lecture ou une relecture des textes, grecs et latins qui commentent l'expression, permet un autre éclairage. l'essentiel de ce qui fut pensé dans la « causa sui » n'est autre que l'opposition « être libre-être esclave », situation socio-politique que la philosophie sut élever à la dignité d'un concept fondamental. The expression "causa sui" (the mainspring of the ego), whose Greek equivalent "aition eautou" features in the sixth Ennead, has according to Heidegger's interpretation become the onto-theological foundation of Western metaphysics. A reading or re-reading of the Greek and Latin texts which comment on the expression allows the matter to be seen in a different light. The underlying principle of the "causa sui" is none other than the socio-political notion of "freedom versus slavery", which philosophy was able to raise to the dignity of a fundamental concept. | ||
