Soulignant avec force la portée centrale de l'incarnation, M.-D. C. a affirmé, contre ses censeurs romains, l'historicité de la théologie et des formules dogmatiques. Il a insisté sur le fait que la pratique historique constituait un lieu théologique: ainsi posait-il déjà les principes d'une conception de la théologie comme herméneutique, comme nouvel acte d'interprétation de l'événement Jésus-Christ, à partir d'une corrélation critique entre l'expérience chrétienne fondamentale dont témoigne la tradition, et notre expérience historique d'aujourd'hui. On the occasion of a new edition of M.-D.Chenu's treatise "Le Saulchoir, a school of theology", dating from 1937, this Note seeks to pick out the guiding principles of his theological work. Underlining forcibly the central theme of the Incarnation, M.-D. C. asserts, in defiance of his Roman censurers, the historicity of theology and of dogmatic pronouncements. He insists on the fact that historical practice constitutes a "Locus" of theology: thus had he already laid down the principles of a conception of theology as hermeneutics, as a new act of interpretation of the Jesus Christ Event, based on a critical correlation between the fundamental Christian experience to which Tradition testifies, and our contemporary historical experience. | ||
