Une telle particularité rappelle la fonction de « l'élément neutre » en mathématique et suggère, sans vouloir pour autant faire de la philosophie une « mathesis », la possibilité d'une transposition qui éclairerait d'une part le rôle des transcendantaux de la tradition métaphysique; et d'autre part, la fonction de la philosophie eu égard aux divers savoirs, de la nature ou de l'humain, qui posent aujourd'hui le problème de leur rapport à l'instance philosophique. A little known text of Aristotle's Metaphysics, here briefly commented, states that "to be" and "one," joined with other predicates such as "man," do not alter what they are added to. Such a particular circumstance recalls the function of the "neuter element" in mathematics and suggests, without wanting to turn philosophy into a "mathesis", the possibility of a transposition which on one hand would lighten up the part of transcendental elements in metaphysical tradition and on the other hand the function of philosophy towards different sources of learning concerning nature or man which nowadays lay down the problem of their relation to philosophical instance. | ||
