On ne ment donc pas en produisant un document qui les énonce telles. 2) Quelle a été l'influence des Fausses Décrétales? Moins décisives que ne l'a dit Döllinger pour fonder la domination papale. L'étude extrêmement détaillée des lettres papales et des collections canoniques jusqu'à Gratien inclusivement montre qu'on y a puisé surtout des règles de procédure judiciaire. Analysis and presentation of H. Fuhrmannes three volume work on the False Decretals. There are two important questions : 1) How were Antiquity and the Middle Ages able to produce so many pseudepigrapha? The reason for it lies in the fact of a completely ideal and objective conception of truth: things must be on way or the other; consequently there is nothing untruthful in producing a document which expresses them in one way. 2) What was the influence of the False Decretals? They were less decisive than Döllinger thought with respect to the founding of papal power. The extremely detailed study of the papal letters and canonical collections up to and including Gratian shows that the rules of judiciary procedure were especially made use of. | ||
