Cette étude historiographique permet de restituer le vrai visage de Bonald, déformé par l'Action Française de Mourras et de Bourget, et le catholicisme intégriste, de Mgr de Ségur à T. Molnar. L'A. établit d'abord que, marqué par la linguistique du XVIIIe s. et s'inspirani de l'idée de langue primitive, B. élabore le concept de législation primitive, base de la tradition. Puis il étudie l'outillage de B.: la concomitance de la pensée et du langage, des idées et des mots, du signe linguistique et du concept, le caractère mécaniste de la traduction dénotent son cartésianisme. L'article montre enfin que le rejet de la métaphysique par B. l'oppose à Maistre et Ballanche, au renouveau préromantique du sentiment religieux dans l'Émigration, et que le mécanisme mathématique de inspiré de Leibniz et de Kant, l'oppose à Montesquieu, à Maistre, au réalisme aristotélicien dont se réclame Mourras, et le conduit à un idéalisme politique proche de Rousseau. An account of Bonald's argument that the divine invention of language is the unquestionable origin of the political tradition of the monarchy. This historio graphical research makes it possible to bring out into light again Bonald's true position, which had been distorted by Maurras' and Bourget's Action Française and by Mgr de Seguras and T. Molnar's integrist Catholicism. The author first shows that Bonald, being influenced by 18th century linguistics and assuming the thesis of a primitive language, works out the idea of a primitive law being the foundation of tradition. He makes then a study of Bonald's fundamental principles: the concomitance of thought and language, of ideas and words, of the linguistic sign and the concept, the mechanistic feature of translation, reveal his Cartesianism. Finally the article shows that Bonald's rejection of metaphysics places him in opposition to Maistre and Ballanche and to the preromantic renewal of religious sensibility among the Emigrés, that Bonald's mathematical mechanicalism, which he owes to Leibniz and Kant, opposes him to Montesquieu, to Maistre and to the Aristotelian realism of Maurras, and leads him to a political idealism, close to that of Rousseau. | ||
