Summary: | Difficulties in the interpretation of texts where the root RW' appearshave called for a new study, that would complete or even replace P. Humbert'smonograph La Terou'a. Analyse d'un rite biblique (Neuchâtel 1946), strongly influenced by cultic and religious-historical approaches. The large number of texts and the absence of clear criteria for groupingthem suggests starting with the analysis of Jos 6,2-20, where terû' â and RW' hiph have a structuring role. The study of this text, which is borne out byreferejices to other important texts (mainly Ps 47 and Esd 3), reveals a cleartheological concern in the RW'-terminology, rather than a cultic setting. |
