| Итог: | Since World War II many significant changes have occurred in the political, economic, cultural and social realms of Poland. Predominantly Catholic, this nation became part of the Marxist-Leninist sphere of ideology and power. The article discusses major Marxist-Christian encounters, the state of the sociology of religion and typical works on religion in post-World War II Poland.In conclusion, the author emphasizes that tremendous efforts have been made, particularly by Christian oriented sociologists, to retain the sociology of religion in the sociological mainstream, as well as increase its relevance and status. Thus, he rejects critiques from purely Western perspectives. |
