This study, conducted a decade later in North Carolina, found much higher levels of sermonizing on a broad range of social issues. Furthermore, “conservative” clergy are as likely as are “liberal” clergy to address social issues from the pulpit, although some clearly discernible foci of interest are apparent between the two groups.
