In particular, the study analyzes how religious self-identifications were associated with support for Robertson and what "power" such identifications had, relative to other social, political, and religious measures, in discriminating between Robertson supporters and nonsupporters. Analysis revealed (l) that religious self-identifications had considerable utility in differentiating which particular subsets of "Bible believing, church attending" Republicans constituted Robertson supporters and (2) that the discriminating "power" of such identifications, relative to other measures, was particularly strong.
