Although the analysis provides support for self-esteem theory, this and other projection theories of the development of divine images do not explain why these two dimensions have been recurrently found in the literature. A variety of theoretical arguments are given that portray social processes potentially involved in the emergence of the nurturing and disciplining images. | ||
