This study isolated six groups of ministers who were rated as effective in a different pastoral function, and compared them, along with an overall effective group, with 175 pastors-in-general. Unique combinations of the characteristics were found for the profiles. Among the significant characteristics found for the seven groups was the use of feedback, perception of skill variety in the parish, self-motivation, positiveness and optimism about the parish, and satisfaction.
