This paper examines five distinct levels and nine different aspects of the respondents' satisfaction in husband-wife interaction. Although levels of satisfaction were generally high, the wives discriminated widely among aspects of the relationship, with love and affection and sexual satisfaction highest in proportions expressing enthusiasm. An index of overall satisfaction was related to traditional religious practices and agreement that fulfillment came through the husband, but it also was high for those who held paying jobs and whose composite role-orientation was individualistic. The variety of reported behaviors as well as attitudes, beliefs, and satisfactions put an end to the old stereotype of clergy wives. | ||
