Data gathered from them indicated that the church has a great potential for influencing local decision-making. Over 90 per cent of the community influentials identified themselves as church members and over two-thirds attend two-thirds or more of the services. Many indicated the church was the organization which provided them with the greatest personal satisfaction. However, the influentials did not perceive the church as presently being very important in local decision-making. Less than one-half said the church was very important when compared with other community organizations. Church leaders and change agents should be made aware of this potential and help churches become more active in local decision-making. | ||
