La constitution d'un corpus reconnu comme « divinement inspiré » et de son corollaire, le corpus dit « apocryphe », procède d'un cheminement complexe que seules les traces anciennes sont susceptibles d'éclairer. L'Evangile de Pierre, récit datant du début du II' siècle, apparaît ici comme particulièrement significatif étant donné l'évolution manifeste de son statut relayée par divers témoignages patristiques s'étalant du II au VI' siècle. Entre production littéraire communautaire primitive et suspicion d'hétérodoxie, la frontière semble avoir été bien fragile pour ce « pseudépigraphe » particulièrement représentatif de la destinée de nombreux écrits rapidement marginalisés par l'Église naissante. Scholars still puzzle over the circumstances which led to the Canon of the Scriptures, as we know it today. The formation of a corpus acknowledged as "divinely inspired" and its corollary, the apocryphal corpus, was the result of a complex procedure on which the earliest traces shed some light. The Gospel of Peter, from the beginning of the second Century, seems here to be specially significant, because of the development of its status, illustrated by patristic testimonies, from the second century up to the sixth. The border between community literary production and suspicion of heterodoxy seems to have been very thin for this "Pseudepigraph", so indicative of the destiny of many weightings quickly marginalized by the nascent Church. | ||
