Sa composition est du type à «rinceaux habités», bien attesté à la période romano-byzantine. L'étude révèle la popularité de ce groupe de mosaïques dans la Judée byzantine. The mosaic discovered in 1924 at Deir el-'Asfur near Beth Shemesh was until now hardly known even to specialists. Two photographs discovered recently in the archives of the École Biblique in Jerusalem enable us to discuss anew this mosaic. Its composition is of the "inhabited scroll" type, so well attested in the Roman-Byzantine period. Our study shows the great popularity of this group of mosaics in Byzantine Judaea. | ||
