Malgré l'impressionnante cohérence fonctionnelle du texte, les indices d'une histoire rédactionnelle complexe ne manquent pas. On tente ici d'en rendre compte par l'hypothèse d'un processus cumulatif : des ajouts successifs, respectant, pour une part, une structure littéraire donnée dès le récit primitif. Le dernier de ces ajouts serait celui de la vision elle-même (28,12 + 17 b), inconnue des traditions anciennes relatives une théophanie de Bethel : il est un complément visionnaire, de style apocalyptique, à un récit classique de songe à message. Formal analysis of Gn 28, 10-22 excludes recours to the documentary hypothesis in the perspective of an historico-critical analysis. Despite the impressive functional coherence of the text, there are indications of a complexe redactional history. We shall try here to take it into account through the hypothesis of a cumulative process : successive additions which respect a literary structure already laid down in the primitive narrative. The latest of these additions is that of the vision itself (28, 12 + 17 b), which is unknown to the ancient traditions relating to the theophany at Bethel: this is a visionary complement, in apocalyptic style, to a classic narrative of a message dream | ||
