| 520 | |a L'étude des différentes circonstances dans lesquelles intervient le ḥaṭṭā't et la place qu'il occupe dans ces différents rituels a permis de mettre en évidence un véritable système de rituels de passage d'intérêt collectif dont la fonction est, selon le cas, de réintégrer le « pécheur » et l'impur, de faire passer de l'état profane à l'état sacré (ou, pour le nazir, de l'état de sainteté à l'état profane), de permettre l'alternance régulière des temps et des saisons et, lors du changement d'année, de régénérer le territoire. Le noyau de ce système est constitué par le ḥaṭṭā't et l'holocauste, le premier de ces sacrifices ayant pour fonction d'opérer la séparation d'avec l'état antérieur, le second réalisant la réintégration du « pécheur » ou de l'impur ou l'agrégation à un nouvel état ou à un état renouvelé. Eu égard à cette fonction du ḥaṭṭā't il est proposé de remplacer les traductions habituelles de ce terme par celle de « sacrifice de séparation ». The study of the different circumstances in which the ḥaṭṭā't appears and of its rôle in theses contexts has brought to light a true system of rites de passage for the community, the function of which is to reintegrate the "sinner" and the unclean, to operate the transfer from the secular state to the sacred (or, in the case of the Nazirite, from the sacred state to the secular), to guarantee the regular alternation of times and seasons and, at the turn of the year, to regenerate the territory. The hub of the system is to be found in the ḥaṭṭā't and the holocaust, the former sacrifice being designed to operate the separation with the previous state, and the latter working the réintégration of the "sinner" and the unclean, or the aggregation to a new, or renewed, state. In the light of this function of the ḥaṭṭā't, it is suggested that the current translations of this term should be replaced by "sacrifice of separation". | ||
