Il ne faut pas ignorer pour autant l'enracinement historique des oracles primitifs contre l'Égypte et Tyr, et leur signification originelle. The period of the siege of Jerusalem has a paramount importance for the introduction of the prophet Ezekiel's mission (chap, XXIV ; XXXIII and III, 16 ff) and for the redactional arrangement of Ezekiel's book. Because of the texts in chapter XXI, and in compliance with the principles stated in XXXVI, 1-15, Ammon plays a special role at the head of the collection of oracles against nations in Ez., XXV-XXXII. But we must not ignore, for all that, the historical setting of the primitive oracles against Egypt and Tyre, and their original signifiance. | ||
