In her book, Sandra Barnes investigates how black churches of 2000 or more participants reconcile this prevalent health and wealth theology with their seemingly incompatible surrounding environment. Her primary objectives are to understand how these churches view HIV/AIDS and poverty and why, and to understand what, if anything, they do to address these issues.
