This study makes use of data that were gathered from an extensive ethnographic study of a Chinese Christian student group to develop a model that helps to explain the social and cultural forces at work that may be predisposing Chinese American young people to be open and receptive to the notion of being involved in a Chinese Christian student group and possibly to the idea of converting to Christianity itself.
