L'Eglise catholique a d'abord réagi "contre" la Réforme en défendant, d'une manière parfois unilatérale, des doctrines qui lui semblaient alors contestées par le protestantisme (le "sacerdoce"/sacerdotium des prêtres, la dimension "sacrificielle" de l'Eucharistie, la présence réelle du Christ dans l'Eucharistie). Ensuite, il faut se rappeler tout ce que le dialogue œcuménique avec les Protestants au cours du XXe siècle a permis à l'Eglise catholique de renforcer en elle-même (l'importance de la Parole de Dieu sous sa forme écrite, la gratuité de la grâce du salut, une vie ecclésiale plus synodale, les relations avec le monde moderne). Which influences the Reformation, since 1517, has had on the Roman Catholic Church? This short study will give some examples. The Roman Catholic Church first has reacted "against" the Reformation by defending, in a sometimes unilateral way, doctrines which seemed at that time to be contested by Protestantism (the “priesthood”/sacerdotium of priests, the “sacrificial” dimension of Eucharist, the real Eucharistic presence of Christ). Afterwards, one reminds of all what the ecumenical dialogue with the Protestants during the XXth century has enabled the Roman Catholic Church to reinforce in herself (the importance of the Word of God in its written form, the gratuitous nature of the grace of salvation, a more synodical ecclesiastic life, the relationships with the modern world). |
