Description
Summary:The critique of religion and Christianity is changing its outlook, even if many arguments are still the same as before. Above all, the position of the critique tends no more to fight direct against religion and to dispute with believers, but to pronounce a judgement about religious convictions and christian beliefs, which shows at the same time the private character and excludes the faithful and the theologians themselves from its scope. But the aim of the christian faith is not only a private one. The christian feels obliged to react in the name of the christian image of man, while finding support in this respect in other critics of the christian faith such as K. Löwith or R. Aron. A new critique of religion must respect some results which have been obtained so far in the discussion, if it would like to contribute in an acceptable way to the life of individuals as well as of groups in our time.
