| Summary: | In collaboration with L. De Coninck, the team that has published the Collectio ex dictis XII Patrum under the direction of P.-I. Fransen O.S.B. is preparing the first critical edition of the Expositio epistolarum beati Pauli apostoli collecta et in ordinem digesta ex libris sancti Augustini episcopi. In the first place, this article deals with editorial problems arising from some particular readings in Florus‘ own draft of the expositio, the MS. LYONS BM 484 (F), which are found to be distinct from readings in the parallel passages of the source MSS adapted by Florus himself to be transcribed. Secondly, we re-examine the status of the copy written by Florus’ disciple Manno, TROYES BM 96 (M) : is this MS. the archetypus of the MSS tradition ? As the variant readings distinguishing M from F are absent from three IXth-century MSS and from the editio princeps, all of which retain the F readings, the evidence is otherwise. The Lyons MS. does not contain the sections Rom. And I Cor. ; the edition of these parts of the expositio is not to be based on the Troyes MS. alone. En collaboration avec L. De Coninck, l’équipe dirigée par dom P.-I. Fransen qui a publié la Collectio ex dictis XII Patrum prépare actuellement la première édition critique de l’Expositio epistolarum beati Pauli apostoli collecta et in ordinem digesta ex libris sancti Augustini episcopi. La première moitié de cet article traite les problèmes éditoriaux découlant des divergences entre certains extraits dans l’original de l’expositio, le ms. LYON BM 484 (F), et les adaptations, par Florus lui- même, des passages correspondants dans les manuscrits-sources. Le statut de la copie TROYES BM 96 (M), exécutée par Mannon de St-Oyen, est soumis à un nouvel examen dans la seconde partie de l’article : ce ms. est-il l’archétype de la tradition du texte ? L’absence, dans trois mss. du IXe s. et dans l’editio princeps, des variantes qui distinguent M vis-à-vis de F (dans ces mss les leçons concernées sont conformes à celles de F) indique plutôt le contraire. Les sections Rom. et I Cor. n’étant pas conservées dans l’original, l’édition de celles-ci se fera sur une base plus large que le seul ms. troyen. |
