| Summary: | Il saggio intende offrire un quadro sintetico, ma il più possibile completo, della Chronica XXIV generalium ordinis Minorum, un testo molto conosciuto nell’ambito della storia francescana, assai utilizzato dalla storiografia, anche contemporanea, ma mai preso in considerazione e studiato come opera per tanti aspetti originale nel suo accostare caratteri compilativi a caratteri cronistici, inseriti in una precisa struttura tesa a conferire ordine alla straordinaria raccolta di materiali agiografici, esemplari, storici, annalistici. Partendo da un lavoro più ampio su questa significativa fonte tardo trecentesca, edito nel 2003, si presentano qui i risultati di altre, successive e più particolari indagini su alcuni importanti filoni tematici della Chronica, che diventa lo specchio della difficile situazione dell’ordine alla fine del Trecento, in un momento in cui il dinamismo duecentesco e l’incondizionato appoggio del papato hanno lasciato il posto ad una « stasi » e al grave conflitto con il vertice della cristianità consumatosi negli anni venti, e, insieme, si manifestano, all’interno, tensioni, sempre più irrefrenabili, verso la rottura e la divisione. Der Artikel hat das Ziel, einen möglichst vollständigen Rahmen der Chronica XXIV generalium ordinis Minorum vorzuschlagen. Auf diesen aus dem Zusammenhang der franziskanischen Geschichte gut bekannten Text wurde durch die Geschichtsschreibung - auch noch die zeitgesnössische - umfangreich zugegriffen. Vor allem aber wurde er als ein Werk erkannt und untersucht, das in vielerlei Hinsicht neuartig erscheint, das in enger Vernindung Merkmale von Kompilation und Chronik aufweist und das, dank einer klaren Struktur, versucht, eine außergewöhnliche Sammlung von hagiographischem, exemplarischem, historischem und annalistischem Material zu ordnen. Auf Grundlage einer 2003 veröffentlichten umfangreichen Arbeit über diese reichhaltige Quelle ist angestrebt, hier die Ergebnisse neuer Detailuntersuchungen über bestimmte thematische Aspekte der Chronik zu präsentieren. In der Tat ist sie ein Spiegel der komplizierten Situation des Ordens zum Ende des 14. Jahrhunderts. Es war ein Moment, an dem die Dynamiken des vorangeganene Jahrhunderts und die uneingeschränkte Unterstützung des Papsttums « eine Pause einlegten », und es zu einem schweren Konflikt mit dem Oberhaupt der Christenheit kam, der in den zwanziger Jahren kulminierte, während im Orden geleichzeitig innere Spannungen zutage traten, die immer weniger unterdrückt werden konnten und schließlich zum Bruch und zur Spaltung führten. The article proposes a synthetic framework, as complete as possible, for the Chronica XXIV generalium ordinis Minorum. This well known text has been widely used in Franciscan historiography, but has retained even more attention as an original work in which a mixture of compilation and chronicle are inscribed in a structure intent on organizing an extraordinary collection of hagiographic texts, exempla, historical and annalistic material. Drawing on a larger study of this text published in 2003, the article presents the results of new inquiries on important thematic aspects of the Chronica. The chronicle reflects a difficult situation within the Order at the end of the fourteenth century, when the previous dynamism and unconditional papal support waned and a serious conflict with the head of the Church culminated in the 1420s; at the same time irrepressible internal tensions led to rupture and division. Cet article a pour objet de proposer un cadre synthétique, aussi complet que possible, de la Chronica XXIV generalium ordinis Minorum. Ce texte très connu dans le contexte de l’histoire franciscaine a été largement utilisé par l’historiographie, y compris contemporaine, mais surtout considéré et étudié comme une œuvre à beaucoup d’égards originale, dans laquelle voisinent les traits de la compilation et de la chronique, inscrits dans une structure précise qui vise à ordonner un ensemble extraordinaire de matériaux hagiographiques, exemplaires, historiques et annalistiques. À partir d’un travail plus ample, publié en 2003, sur cette source riche de sens, il s’agit de présenter ici les résultats de nouvelles enquêtes plus particulières sur certains aspects thématiques importants de la Chronica. Elle est en effet devenue le miroir de la situation difficile de l’ordre à la fin du xive siècle, à un moment où le dynamisme du siècle précédent et l’appui inconditionnel de la papauté ont laissé place à une « pause » et au grave conflit avec le chef de la chrétienté qui culmine dans les années vingt, tandis que se manifestent les tensions internes de plus en plus irrépressibles, qui mènent à la rupture et à la division. |
