| 520 | |a On the 60.th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, this article presents the key Catholic principles on human rights, underlying the Catholic social teaching in the defence and promotion of them. Beginning especially with Pacem in terris in 1963, the documents on social teaching use the language of human rights as one way of expressing what is owed to all human beings by virtue of their dignity. Its capital importance for the Church can be recognised through different aspects reviewed in the present study: foundation, genesis and evolution, classification of human rights (personal, social and instrumental), and connections among them, where the right to development plays a very special role. Two complementary fields —religious freedom and migration— are particularly good examples of how Catholic social teaching deals with fundamental rights. The author has been researching these two areas during the last several years and wishes to offer, on occasion of this important commemoration, some of the mostsignificant proposals that come from Catholic debates. | ||
| 520 | |a En el sexagésimo aniversario de la Declaración Universal de los Derechos Humanos, este artículo expone las claves católicas de los derechos humanos y resalta el compromiso de la Doctrina Social de la Iglesia en la defensa y promoción de los mismos. Desde Pacem in terris en 1963, los documentos del magisterio social también usan el lenguaje de los derechos humanos como modo privilegiado de expresar lo que es debido a todo ser humano en virtud de su dignidad. Mostramos la capital importancia que la Iglesia atribuye a su reconocimiento y tutela a través de una síntesis de los aspectos imprescindibles: su fundamento, su génesis y evolución, así como la clasificación (personal, sociale instrumental) y las conexiones entre los distintos derechos, en donde destaca el derecho al desarrollo; complementándolo con el tratamiento de dos campos especialmente relevantes de los derechos humanos hoy: el de la libertad religiosa y el de las migraciones. El autor ha dedicado en los últimos años su investigación a caballo entre la Teología moral y la Filosofía política a esos dos ámbitos y quiere ofrecer aquí, con motivo de esta conmemoración, algunas de las más sugerentes propuestas que para el derecho a la libertad religiosa y los derechosde los migrantes vienen de los debates católicos. | ||
