RT Article T1 Veränderte Landkarten der globalen Christentumsgeschichte JF Kirchliche Zeitgeschichte VO 22 IS 1 SP 187 OP 210 A1 Koschorke, Klaus 1948- LA German PB Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht YR 2009 UL https://ixtheo.de/Record/1817502980 AB While the discipline of 'Church History' in the German academic context largely ignores the reality of World Christianity, there do exist remarkable attempts at a 'History of Christianity in the Non-Western World' or a 'World History of Christianity'. These, nevertheless, mark only the beginnings of a much needed process of historiographical re-orientation. This article discusses various models which might develop global perspectives of the history of Christianity without being restricted to a mere 'bookbinder's synthesis'. It deals with a succession of paradigms drawn from the sixteenth to the twentieth centuries. DO 10.13109/kize.2009.22.1.187
