| Summary: | This article focuses on some readings of the book of Esther in Codex Vaticanus (4th century CE), unanimously regarded as the best witness of the Old Greek text. A first comparison is made with the text of 𝔓 967 (3rd century CE), a special papyrus within the Greek textual tradition. All the relevant differences between the two are considered. Once scribal error is excluded, attention is directed to possible parallel readings with the Masoretic Text in order to ascertain whether these readings show traces of a revision of the text of Codex Vaticanus (B) towards MT. |
