Throughout its 475 years of history, the Society of Jesus has been present in very different places and very diverse circumstances, a kind of presence that employs action as a principal means to explain her religious experience, her particular way of loving God and loving the neighbor: «Love ought to manifest itself more by deeds than by words» [Sp Ex 230]. This article offers an inescapable panoramic view of the kind-hearted and merciful work that the Society of Jesus, the Jesuits who have dwelt in her and her collaborators, have been doing through her History. | ||
| 520 | |a Uno de los puntos más propios de la espiritualidad ignaciana es favorecer una mirada bondadosa sobre todas las cosas, sobre toda la creación, empezando por una aceptación misericordiosa e incondicional del propio sujeto orante. «Dios trabaja y labora por mí en todas las cosas criadas» [Ej 236]. A lo largo de sus 475 años de vida la Compañía de Jesús ha estado presente en lugares muy diferentes y en circunstancias muy diversas. Una presencia que hace de la acción un medio privilegiado para explicar su experiencia religiosa, su manera particular de amar a Dios y amar al prójimo: «El amor ha de ponerse más en las obras que en las palabras»[Ej 230].
